Dimerco Express Corporation (5609) today announced the consolidated sales revenue for the month of February 2023. The consolidated sales revenue of February 2023 is NTD 1,593 million, a decrease of 48.3% compared to February 2022, and consolidated sales revenue of February 2023 YTD is NTD 3,495 million, a decrease of 51.7% compared to the same period last year.
Due to the slow season of global trade in February along with continuous impact of US-China Trade Tension and Russo-Ukrainian War with threat of inflation and elevated inventories, freight market trend sees seasonal slump, which results in low freight rate with carrier capacity (supply) over shipper demand. Facing the downturn on China’s export market, several hi-tech companies take “China Plus One” Strategy and switch to other countries, resulting in short term increase on equipment transportation while the effective on RCEP (The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) increases trades between China and Southeast Asia.
Dimerco foresees market change with enhancement on digital marketing and clear market positioning from brick-and-mortar to online platform to attract customers while keeps capacity with strategic development on acquiring several international large customers during the slow market. Besides, compared with the same period last year, there’s only a 20-30% decrease in February, 2023 on tonnage/volume, which is much lower than the 50% decrease on revenue, showing not only the stable profit but also the upturn on upcoming growth of business.
