JIT replenishment helps Tesla supplier increase flexibility and keep inventory low
For a China-based Tesla supplier, Dimerco manages automotive logistics from China to Tesla’s 10-million-square-foot Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. Inventory ships to Dimerco’s Austin, Texas, warehouse, minutes from the Tesla plant. There, we use robot-aided processes to pre-assemble components and speed final production. The work is done in sync with that day’s production schedule, and finished units are shipped, just in time, to Tesla.
