Dimerco Express Group held its ESG “Street Clean-Up at Oldtown Dadao-CHANGE” event on June 27 in the historic Dadaocheng district of Taipei, inviting employees and their families to take part in a hands-on initiative supporting environmental sustainability.
A total of 50 Dimerco employees and family members participated in this year’s activity, collecting 17.45 kilograms of waste. Through this street clean-up initiative, the company contributed to improving the urban environment while reinforcing its ongoing commitment to ESG principles and sustainable development.
The event integrated environmental protection, cultural exploration, and sustainability education. Guided by professional tour leaders, participants explored the cultural and historical development of Dadaocheng, gaining insights into its local heritage, industrial evolution, and community identity. The program also included interactive team challenges and visits to sustainability-focused local businesses. Participants learned how these enterprises incorporate circular economy principles, responsible production, and community engagement into their operations, deepening their understanding of sustainable development and local revitalization.
In addition to cultural exploration, the street clean-up activity served as a key component of the ESG initiative. Participants worked in groups to collect litter and cigarette butts across the district, helping to improve the public environment. As cigarette filters contain plastic fibers and harmful chemicals that may negatively impact water systems and ecosystems over time, the activity not only contributed to cleaner streets but also enhanced employees’ awareness of environmental protection and sustainability in daily life.
