Is there any free storage for Air and Ocean modes in Thailand?
Yes. The free storage depends on the mode of transport:
• Air Mode: 2 days of free storage (including the day of arrival).
• Ocean Mode:
o Full Container Load (FCL): 3 days of free storage after the container lands at the terminal.
o Less Container Load (LCL): 3 days of free storage, including the container opening queue period.
How do I check the HS Code for my commodity?
You can find the HS Code on the Thai Customs website: Thailand Customs
Go to Tariff Classification, select Integrated Tariff Database, enter your cargo description, and search. The final HS Code is determined by the HS Code center. You may check with your Thailand logistics company for more information.
What is a Free Trade Agreement (FTA)?
An FTA (Free Trade Agreement) is an agreement between two or more countries to reduce trade barriers such as tariffs, quotas, and subsidies, allowing goods and services to move more freely across borders.
What FTAs does Thailand have?
Thailand has 8 FTAs: Korea (AK), Japan (JTEPA), China (E), India (AI), Australia, New Zealand (AANZ), Chile (TC), and Peru (TP). Additionally, it has agreements with 2 economic organizations: BIMSTEC and ASEAN (D), and 2 multilateral agreements: TH-EU (EFTA) and TH-SG (FTA).
In addition to the FTAs, Thailand is also expanding their foreign investment incentives. Learn more about this initiative from this blog: Thailand 4.0 Economy
What is the difference between a Surrendered B/L and a Sea Waybill?
A Sea Waybill is simpler and ideal for regular transactions with a high level of trust. It transfers cargo ownership to the consignee and is often cheaper since it does not incur double BL fees like a Surrendered B/L.
How many days are needed for Outbound and Inbound Clearance in Thailand?
For both Air and Ocean modes, clearance usually takes 1 day with a Green Line Ticket. With a Red Line Ticket, it may take an additional 1-2 days, depending on the customs officer’s inspection.
How many hours will it take to receive cargo from airlines in Thailand?
Generally, the Delivery Order (D/O) is released 4-6 hours after the flight arrives. Cargo unloading from the aircraft typically takes 6-8 hours. For more information, contact your Thailand Freight Shipping and Logistics Services provider.
How many days will it take to receive cargo from the seaport in Thailand?
The number of days depends on the type of ocean service:

- For Less Container load (LCL): The D/O is released 1 working day after the vessel berths, but unstuffing at the terminal warehouse takes 3-5 working days.
