Dimerco Express Corporation (5609) today announced the consolidated sales revenue for the month of March 2024. The consolidated sales revenue of March 2024 is NTD 1, 956 million, an increase of 7.2% compared to March 2023. The consolidated sales revenue of March 2024 YTD is NTD 5,449 million, an increase of 2.4% compared to the same period last year.
In March, the airfreight market, due to inventory replenishment in some industries in March, most industries saw expansion in new orders and production indices. The surge in demand for eCommerce goods, artificial intelligence (AI) chips, and servers has driven up demand in the airfreight market. In addition, the volume of eCommerce goods in the Chinese market has surged, flooding into airports in southern China and rapidly expanding to other ports in China. Consumer demand in the U.S. and Europe is slowly recovering, and a more significant growth is expected in the third quarter of this year.
As for the ocean freight market in March, in response to the declining container load factors in the later part of the New Year, ocean carriers implemented reductions of excess capacity by 35% and 25% respectively on the Europe-West Bound and the Trans-Pacific East Bound (TPEB) in early March. Towards the end of March, they ceased similar blank sailing strategies and instead utilized optimized fleet deployment to meet the surge in pre-holiday cargo demand related to festivals such as the Tomb Festival in China, Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia, and the Songkran Festival in Thailand and Myanmar.
